Kamal est un jeune ingénieur qui participe à la réalisation d’un grand barrage. Au milieu des années 90, à un moment donné de l’évolution des travaux, il découvre que le projet a été modifié à son insu. En apprenant que les raisons de cette modification sont liées à des intérêts particuliers qui portent gravement préjudice à la finalité de l’investissement, il manifeste vivement son opposition. Face à cette attitude, son patron l’envoie en mission à Errachidia au fin fond du désert.

A son retour, il constate que sa femme Amal et sa fille Leyla ont disparu sans laisser de trace….

Following a series of unexpected events, Amal and her husband Kamal split up in a great confusion and misunderstanding. Each one believes he's been abandoned by the other.

Several years later, Amal undertakes a search for her husband, along with her brother­in-law, Redouane. However, their journey slowly becomes a travel in ancient memories and eventually transforms their lives as well as those of the other protagonists.
