Biography

Born in Rabat in 1975, layla Triqui was very soon immersed in the artistic bath. After a year at the ESI in Rabat, the director turned to cinema by integrating ISADAC. After graduation, she worked as a set-decorator in Tony Scott's "Spy Game" and later in "Accessories" in "Kundun" by Martin Scorsese. She will be recruited as assistant script and script in "Ali, Rabia and others" by Ahmed Boulane, "Ali Zaoua" by Nabyl Ayouch, and as assistant director in  "Mémoire en détention" by Jilali Ferhati. In 2000, she made her first short film "Chapelet" which won, in Milan (Italy), the "Cinit ciemme". This short film will also take part in the Oberhausen Festival (Germany), Oslo (Norway), and the Tangier Mediterranean Short Film Festival. In 2005, her short film "sang d'encre" was a great success during its presentation at the Cannes Film Festival in the category "Cinémas du monde.
