Yachine is 10 years old when Morocco emerges from the years of lead. His mother, Yemma, runs as she can the whole family. A depressive father, a brother in the army, another almost autistic and a third, Hamid, little boss of the district and protector of Yachine. When Hamid is imprisoned, Yachine connects odd jobs. To get out of this slump where violence, misery and drugs reign, Hamid, once released and  became a radical Islamist during his incarceration, persuades Yachine and his friends to join their "brothers".
