Whatever Lola Wants

Lola, 25 years old, lives in New York where she works for the Post Office dreaming of a career as a dancer. Youssef, his best friend, is a young Egyptian gay living in New York. It is through him that Lola discovers the story of Ismahan, star of oriental dance, a true legend in Cairo.

In the restaurant where Youssef works, Lola meets another Egyptian, Zack. The idyll quickly turns short when Zack becomes aware of the cultural differences that separate them and returns to Egypt. Without thinking, Lola, as impulsive as naive, immediately decided to follow him, under the bewildered eyes of Youssef.

Arrived in Cairo, disappointed by the welcome of Zack's family as much as the attitude of the young man, Lola is heading to find the fascinating dancer Ismahan.
