The FIFM ends its 17th edition on  a High  Note

Organized from November 30 to December 8, the International Film Festival of Marrakech ended its 17th edition this Saturday. And it's was  a real success. After a year of absence, the festival stood out as an international film event.

The edition of this year known the presence of international cinema stars such as Guillermo Del Torro, Monica Bellucci, Yousra, Leila Eloui, Martin Scorsese, Leila Eloui, Nadine Labaki, Gael Garcia Bernal, Rossy De Palma or James Gray who was the president of the jury this year. Three big names of  cinema have also been honored, namely Robert De Niro, Agnès Varda and Jilali Ferhati.

For the winners, the jury, headed by James Gray, announced the results at the closing ceremony. The Gold Star was won by the Austrian film "JOY" by Sudabeh Mortezai. The Jury Prize was given to the film LA CAMARISTA by Mexican director Lila Avilès. For the Staging Prize, the jury chose the film TERET by Ognjen Glavonic (Serbia). The Women's and Men's Interpretation Prizes were awarded to the German actress Aenne Schwarz for her role in the film "All Good" and to the Tunisian actor Nidhal Saadi for her role in the film "Look At Me ",   respectively.

Moroccan cinema was also honored through the panorama screenings of several films. But also by the participation of Moroccan directors in the "Conversation With". The festival also inaugurated, at this edition, “Ateliers de l'Atlas”, an "industry and development" program that accompanies Moroccan, Arab and African projects in post-production and pre-production.

This year, more than 100,000 festival-goers followed the various screenings and activities of this 17th edition of the festival. An edition that promises a lot of success to come.
